Head of the block of cylinders

The head is executed from an aluminium alloy and has the inserted saddles of valves. In the top part of a head the camshaft is established.

The prevention

The pereshlifovannaja head is designated by letter R which has been beaten out in the corresponding place of a head (fig. the Place of measurement of height of a head of the block of cylinders and a sign перешлифованной heads see).

Saddles of valves

Pig-iron saddles of valves the plug-in. The corner прилегания saddles of inlet and final valves makes 90 °.

Valves

The valves fixed in a head, are put in action by a camshaft through pushers. Rods of inlet valves are chromeplated.

Adjustment of a working backlash is carried out by installation on pushers of corresponding adjusting plates.

System work timing the camshaft placed in a head which rotates in three bearings operates and is put in action by a gear belt. Valves are put in action by a camshaft through the pushers supplied with adjusting plates.

Engine XUD camshaft 7ТЕ has special camber between cams of 1st cylinder.

Lining of a head of the block of cylinders

Some engines have the block of cylinders designated by a symbol "In" which is characterised by a ledge of pistons over the edge of cylinders equal or big 0,84 mm. In them it is necessary to establish necessarily a lining of a head in the thickness of 1,83 mm which is designated by four cuts.

Since December, 1988 valves are equipped only with one spring which has replaced knot from two springs.

Saddles and final valves

With a view of unification engines XUD 7Т and XUD 9 are equipped by the same nests of final valves, as well as in engine XUD 9ТЕ.

Application of this updating has led to that deepening of a nest of the final valve concerning a surface of connection of a head of the block of cylinders became equal 2,5 mm instead of former 2 mm, and also the thickness of a plate of the valve for preservation of former degree of compression has accordingly increased.

Heads of new type are identified by means of apertures in diameter of 9 mm (instead of apertures in diameter of 7 mm) in the ledges located over candles накаливания.

Since January, 1992 engine XUD 9 with the modified head of the block of cylinders has designation XUD 9A/L.

Components of both types of heads of the block of cylinders are not interchangeable.

System timing

Engines were gradually equipped with gear belts from materials HSN (Hydrogene Sature Nitrile) which are characterised by the raised stability on influence of oils and the raised temperature.

These belts have designation HSN.

In case of belt replacement it is necessary to establish belt HSN necessarily.

Since January, 1990 in cars with system of a steering without the hydraulic booster диафрагменные vacuum pumps are gradually replaced on лопастные rotational pumps with a drive directly from a camshaft. In cars with air-conditioning the former decision is left.

Since model 1993 the thermostat 89 ° is replaced with the thermostat 83 °.

Separate parts of both types of fastening are not interchangeable.
