3.1. Petrol engines

THE GENERAL DATA

The petrol engine (8 valves) in a cut

The engine is four-cycle, four-cylinder, рядным with a cross-section arrangement in a forward part of the car. Engines with working volume 1905 sm³ and 1998 sm³ with 16 valves have two top camshafts. On all models the water pump puts in action a gear belt of a drive of system timing.

Greasing – under the pressure created by the oil pump which is resulted by a chain from the right end of a cranked shaft. On models with 16 valves there is an oil radiator which is established under the oil filter.

The engine code is beaten out on a plate attached to the right forward part of the block of cylinders of the engine, on the engine with working volume 1761 sm³ is beaten out directly on a face sheet of the block of cylinders, and on the engine of 1998 sm³ – to the left of the oil filter.
