12.7. A forward brake disk

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To lift a forward part of the car and to fix on supports.
2. To remove a corresponding forward wheel.
3. Slowly to turn a brake disk so that it it was possible to consider from two parties.
4. If necessary to remove brake pads.
5. Measure a thickness of a brake disk with micrometer use. Deterioration of a brake disk from pads should be in admissible limits.
6. If deterioration exceeds an admissible limit or there are cracks on a disk, the disk is subject to replacement.
7. If necessary, to clear on perimetre a disk of a rust and a brake dust.
8. The indicator of hour type to check up palpation of a brake disk. The indicator of hour type to fix in any convenient place and turning a disk to define its palpation in several points from its centre.
9. If disk palpation exceeds admissible limits, the disk is subject to replacement.
10. However failure of the bearing of a nave can be the reason of palpation of a disk.
11. For check of palpation of an inside of a brake disk to remove a brake disk from a nave, to turn it on 180 °, repeatedly to fix on a nave and the indicator of hour type to measure its palpation.
12. Check up a brake disk on presence of cracks especially round apertures under bolts of fastening of a wheel.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On models with supports Bendix to remove brake pads.
2. On models with supports Girling to unscrew two bolts of fastening of a support to a nave.
3. To remove a support and using a soft wire to adhere it to a forward rack. Thus not to deform and not to stretch a brake hose.
4. Using a chalk or a paint to note position of a brake disk concerning a nave.
5. To unscrew screws, крепящие a brake disk to a nave and to remove a disk.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal, considering following moments.
2. To check up that working surfaces of a brake disk and a nave pure and are not deformed.
3. To combine earlier made labels, to establish a brake disk and to fix screws, having tightened their demanded moment.
4. If the new brake disk, that is established, using solvent, to clear it of protective greasing.
5. Before screwing up of bolts of fastening of a support, a carving of bolts to cover with means from unscrewing (Loctite Frenetanch).
6. To establish a wheel and to lower the car.
7. Some times to press a brake pedal that brake pads were established into position.
