Late type brake pads brakes of type Bendix established on a brake board

And – a lobby brake колодка,

In – back brake колодка,

With – the bottom point of turn pads,

F – the mechanism of a rack of a regulator,

1 – a top returnable spring,

2 – a bottom returnable spring,

3 – a fastening pin, a spring and a head,

4 – a spring

The prevention

It is obligatory to make replacement of all pads on one axis of the car even if deterioration borders were reached by one колодка.

At work brake pads the brake dust which contains asbestos, unhealthy is formed. Therefore at clearing brake pads not to use compressed air and not to inhale a dust.

ALL MODELS

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To lift the car and to remove a back wheel.
2. To unscrew a bolt of fastening of a drum and to remove it.
3. Being careful, to remove a dust formed from deterioration brake pads from a brake drum, a brake board and pads.
4. To measure a thickness of brake overlays in several points, and in a case if overlays in any point are worn out to is minimum admissible limit or polluted by oil, to replace brake pads.

BRAKES BENDIX

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On early models to disconnect clamp springs pads from a brake board of a drum-type brake, using the tool similar shown on photo. The tool can be made independently, using a screw-driver with a cut in an edge.
2. The special tool to push in the spring centre, and to unhook a hook of a spring from a brake board.
3. On later models, using flat-nose pliers, to remove heads of a clamp of a spring pads, pressing and turning them on 90 °.
4. After removal of heads to lift springs and to take clamp pins.
5. By means of the lever to remove brake pads from their bottom holder on a brake disk.
6. To remove the bottom taking away spring.
7. To wring out both pads from the wheel brake cylinder and to remove them. Thus not to damage dusterи.
8. To disconnect a cable of a drive of a manual brake from brake pads. For prevention of drop - out of pistons from the working brake cylinder to fix pistons a corresponding elastic band or a wire.
9. To note an arrangement of details of a regulator brake pads, to remove the lever of a drive of a manual brake and to disconnect fixing spring of a bolt of a regulator from a lobby (on an arrangement) brake pads.
10. To disconnect the top returnable spring, to separate forward brake pad and a returnable spring from back brake pads.
11. To disconnect a spring, крепящую a regulator to back brake колодке.
12. To replace all returnable springs irrespective of their condition.
13. To establish the lever of a manual brake on new brake pad and to fix its new bracket fastenings.
14. To take a bolt of a regulator from a rack, and carefully to investigate a rack on deterioration and damages.

The prevention

The left and right racks are not interchangeable and designated "G" and "D" accordingly. Bolts of a regulator of a rack also are not interchangeable; the left bolt of a rack has the left carving, and the right bolt the right carving.

15. Correctly to place a regulator.
16. To check up that all elements on the rack end are correctly placed, then to put greasing with a fusion heat on a carving of a bolt of a regulator.
17. To screw a regulator wheel on a bolt so that between a ring and a bolt head there was a small backlash, and to establish a bolt in a rack.
18. To establish a returnable spring on back (on an arrangement) brake pad so that shorter hook of a spring incorporated with pads.
19. To establish an adjusting lath by the spring end.
20. To insert an adjusting lath into a groove in back brake колодке.
21. To establish the top returnable spring on back brake pad.
22. The second end of a spring to establish on a lobby brake pad and moving, to arrange a lobby pad so that a head of an adjusting bolt has settled down in a flute.
23. After that to insert a hook of a fixing spring into a groove on a lobby brake колодке.
24. To raise rubber protective covers of the brake cylinder and to check up the working brake cylinder on leaks of a brake liquid.
25. To clear details of a back brake.
26. On contact places pads with a brake board to put lubricant with a fusion heat.
27. To check up that the lever of a manual brake is located opposite to an edge back brake pads and to remove an elastic band, крепящую pistons in the brake cylinder.
28. To stretch brake pads and to establish their top ends on the piston of the working brake cylinder.
29. To connect a cable of a manual brake to the lever of a manual brake located on back brake колодке.
30. To establish the bottom returnable spring on both brake pads and to establish the bottom part brake pads on a support pads.
31. Moving brake pads, to centre them in relation to a brake board.
32. To establish clamp pins pads, springs and heads of fastening of a spring.
33. Using a screw-driver, to turn a wheel of an adjusting lath so that to unclench brake pads to a contact of a brake drum.
34. To establish a brake drum.
35. To make replacement brake pads on the second back wheel.
36. After replacement brake pads to adjust a backlash between them and a brake drum for what some times to press a brake pedal. By pedal pressing, at normal work of an adjusting lath, the clicks published by an adjusting lath should be audible.
37. To check up and if it is necessary to adjust a manual brake.
38. To check up level of a brake liquid in system.

BRAKES GIRLING

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To note an arrangement of springs and a regulator rack, for repeated correct assemblage (the arrow specifies a direction of rotation of a wheel).
2. To disconnect the top and bottom returnable springs, and to remove them from brake pads.
3. Using flat-nose pliers, to remove heads of a clamp of a spring of a lobby brake pads, pressing and turning them on 90 °.
4. After removal of heads to lift springs, to take pins of a clamp and to remove pad from a brake board.
5. To disconnect a spring of the lever of adjustment and to remove it from a lobby brake pads.
6. To disconnect a regulator rack, and to remove it from back brake pads.
7. Using flat-nose pliers, to remove heads of a clamp of a spring back brake pads, pressing and turning them on 90 °.
8. After removal of heads to lift springs, to take clamp pins, then to disconnect a cable of a manual brake and to remove pad from the car.
9. To establish the lever of a manual brake on new brake pad and to fix its new bracket fastenings.
10. To replace all returnable springs irrespective of their condition.
11. To remove the end of a plug from a regulator rack, and to investigate assemblage on deterioration or damages.

The prevention
