Removal

MODELS OF ENGINES WITH 8 VALVES

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove driving a camshaft belt.
2. To merge a liquid from cooling system.
3. To unscrew a nut of the bottom support.
4. To remove knot of the air filter and air pipes.
5. To uncover the distributor and a sheaf of wires of ignition.
6. To remove the fuel pump.
7. To unscrew a nut of an elastic support of the right top arm of the engine.
8. To lift the engine on height 6–8 the cowl see In case of use of the lift it is necessary to establish vertically.
9. To unscrew bolts of fastening of the right top arm to the engine.
10. To lower the engine, and the right top arm should be on an elastic support.
11. To disconnect pipelines of a cooling liquid, giving of fuel and electric sockets.
12. To disconnect a cable of a pedal of an accelerator.
13. To separate elements of system of release of the fulfilled gases about a collector.
14. To unscrew a bolt of fastening of a jellied mouth of oil to a final collector.
15. To take a diagnostic socket and directing the index of level of oil.
16. To uncover a camshaft.
17. To weaken and unscrew in sequence, return to a tightening of 10 bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders (fig. the Order of a tightening of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders see).
18. To remove a head of the block of cylinders.
19. To establish the flanges holding sleeves of cylinders (the adaptation 8.0132 AIZ together with a bolt 0153 J).

MODELS 1905 of sm3 C 16 VALVES
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To uncover heads of the block of cylinders.
2. To remove a wire of weight from the accumulator.
3. To unscrew a bolt from a plastic casing of a pulley of the pump of the amplifier of a steering.
4. To remove driving a belt from a leading pulley of a steering drive.
5. To unscrew a bolt and to remove a pulley from the camshaft end.
6. To remove electric wires from a head of the block of cylinders.
7. To remove hoses of a cooling liquid from a head of the block of cylinders.
8. To remove the ignition distributor.
9. To remove a final collector.
10. To remove a gear belt.
11. In regular intervals, in certain sequence, to weaken ten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders (for one pass on half of turn) until all bolts cannot be unscrewed manually.
12. To remove a head of the block of cylinders.
The prevention

Not to turn a cranked shaft at the removed head of the block of cylinders, differently damp sleeves can be put forward from the block of cylinders.


13. If the head of the block of cylinders acts in film for major repairs, to remove camshafts from a head of the block of cylinders.

MODELS 1998 of sm3 C 16 VALVES

Process of removal of a head of the block of cylinders is similar to model 1905 of sm3 with 16 valves (see above) except for following changes:

 – If necessary to remove both camshafts;
 – At removal of an inlet collector to disconnect the management block;
 – To unscrew a bolt of fastening of a pipe маслоизмерительного щупа from a head of the block of cylinders.

The filter of the channel of greasing

It is necessary to replace this filter regularly.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To check up a condition of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders, especially their carving. To check up each bolt on visible deterioration or damages, replacing them if necessary.
2. If the length of bolts is less 122,0 mm, they can repeatedly be used. However if at least one of bolts has the big length, bolts should be replaced in the complete set.


The prevention

It is recommended to replace the filter of the channel of greasing regularly.


3. Connection surfaces to clear special cleaning means (for example, Magnus Magstrip or Decaploc 88).
4. In no event it is impossible шабрить for a surface of connection of details from aluminium.
5. To clean a carving of apertures in the block of cylinders by means of tap М11х150 mm.
6. Interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders should be absolutely pure. For their clearing use a firm plastic or wooden scraper. At clearing be careful, as the aluminium alloy is very easy for damaging. Check up that the deposit has not got to oil and water channels, it is especially important for greasing system as the deposit can block oil giving to engine components. If necessary clear channels.
7. Check up interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders on presence of notches, deep scratches and other damages. If defects small, they can be removed machining, but at detail major defects are subject to replacement.
8. Using a metal ruler and щуп, check up planeness of interfaced surfaces.
9. Clear apertures under bolts in the block. Bolt screwing up in the aperture filled with oil can break off the block because of hydraulic pressure.

Identification of linings of a head of the block of cylinders

And – the type applied now,

3 – linings under bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders,
4 – the remote plug about the pump of a cooling liquid,
5 – a cylinder sleeve

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To take the flanges holding sleeves of cylinders.
2. By means of a stripper 8.0134 L to extend a pin of installation of a head of the block of cylinders on the left side. To establish a pin in the top position, inserting выколотку for pins in diameter of 5 mm.
3. To check up, whether the second pin is established on the right.
4. To establish a lining of a head of the block of cylinders a ledge towards coupling. The thickness of a new lining makes 1,2 mm in engines with неперешлифованной a head of the block of cylinders and 1,4 mm in engines after repolishing of the head designated by symbol R before a bolt №10. The lining of 1,4 mm is designated in the thickness by special cut on a ledge (fig. Identification of linings of a head of the block of cylinders see).
5. To insert the plastic filter into its nest.
6. To establish a head of the block of cylinders.
7. To take выколотку.
8. To clear and grease a carving of ten bolts, to insert them together with linings into corresponding apertures. The bolt supplied with the remote plug, has number 8 according to tightening order.
10. Preliminary to tighten bolts the moment of 80 Nanometers according to the specified sequence (fig. the Order of a tightening of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders see).
11. To lift the engine and in a head of the block of cylinders to establish two bolts of fastening of the right arm of the engine. To tighten bolts the moment of 20 Nanometers.
12. To weaken in the block of cylinders a bolt of fastening of the right arm of the engine.
13. To lower the engine (the right top arm should be on an elastic support).
14. To tighten a nut of the right arm of the engine in the block of cylinders and a nut of a connecting clip the moment of 35 Nanometers.
15. Completely to weaken a bolt of a head of the block of cylinders №1, to tighten its moment of 20 Nanometers. It is necessary to use the plug 8.0154 and to tighten a bolt on a corner 120 (шестигранный a bolt) or on a corner 300 (bolt Torx).
16. To repeat these operations in relation to each of other bolts according to the specified order.
17. To check up a backlash of valves and in case of need to adjust.
18. To establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
19. To establish directing the index of level of oil and a diagnostic socket.
20. To fix a jellied mouth of oil to an inlet collector.
21. To fix details of system of release of the fulfilled gases.
22. To connect an accelerator cable, pipelines of a cooling liquid, giving of fuel and electric sockets.
23. To establish driving a camshaft belt.
24. To fill in cooling liquid in cooling system.
25. In case of installation new driving a belt of a camshaft after engine cooling it is necessary to adjust its tension repeatedly.
26. To tighten a head of the block of cylinders (additional operation, is necessary only in case of application of bolts with шестигранными heads). For this purpose follows:
      – To uncover heads of the block of cylinders;
      – Completely to weaken a bolt of fastening №1 and to tighten its moment of 20 Nanometers;
      – It is necessary to use the plug and to tighten a bolt on a corner 120 ;
      – To repeat these actions in relation to each of other bolts according to the specified order.
27. To check up a backlash of valves and in case of need to adjust.
28. To establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
29. To tighten a bolt of fastening of the right arm of the engine in the block of cylinders the moment of 20 Nanometers. Any more it is not necessary to tighten elements of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders.
