4.3.3. Systems of injection of fuel
THE GENERAL DATA

The system of injection of fuel ECU – self-adjusted system which supervises and stores the data providing optimum operational power setting at various loadings.

At accumulator switching-off there is a deleting of the data and for their restoration it is necessary to start the engine and to take it idling while the system will not be adjusted. This process will be is better executed at carrying out of the road test within 15 minutes at 2500–3500 turns in a minute.

ELEMENTS OF SYSTEM OF INJECTION BOSCH L3. L (JETRONIC)

System of injection of fuel Bosch L3. l the faltering type, working under low pressure. Fuel moves the fuel pump through the filter on a highway to injectors. The regulator of pressure established on an exit of a fuel highway and connected with vacuum in inlet collector, supports constant pressure in atomizers, returning surplus of fuel in a fuel tank.

Гаситель impulses on an input of a fuel highway reduces fluctuation of pressure of fuel.

The electronic control device (ECU) and a measuring instrument of a stream of air are established on a casing of the air filter. ECU uses signals from various gauges to define time of opening of injectors for any operational mode.

The electronic control device receives following signals:

 – Quantity of air consumed by the engine, and a stream of air passing through a measuring instrument;
 – Air temperature;
 – Frequency of rotation of the engine and angular position of a cranked shaft;
 – Position throttle заслонки.

Atomizers work simultaneously, spraying fuel towards the inlet valve.

The additional air channel provides additional giving of air in a mode of start of the cold engine.

ELEMENTS OF SYSTEM OF INJECTION BOSCH LU2 JETRONIC

The principle of action of system LU2 - Jetronic is similar described for system L3. l-Jetronic (see above), but with following distinctions:

 – The case throttle заслонки has the unique chamber;
 – There is an oxygen gauge;
 – Is present каталитический neutralizer.

The most essential distinction – that the system LU2 - Jetronic has the oxygen gauge in system of release which allows the electronic control device to execute mix regulation that gives the chance to use каталитический neutralizer.

Principle of action of system Bosch Motronic MP3. l it is similar described for system L3. l-Jetronic (see above), but with following distinctions:

 – ECU operates ignition system in addition to system of injection of fuel, creating an incorporated control system of the engine;
 – The system of distribution of ignition is reduced;
 – Instead of a measuring instrument of a stream of air the gauge of temperature of air and the pressure gauge in a collector is applied.

ELEMENTS OF SYSTEM OF INJECTION BOSCH MOTRONIC M. 1.3

Principle of action of system Motronic MI. 3 it is similar described for system L3. l-Jetronic (see above), but with following distinctions:

 – ECU operates system of ignition and system of injection of fuel, creating an incorporated control system of the engine;
 – The gauge of position / of frequency of rotation of the engine is used for reception of the information on position of a cranked shaft and frequency of rotation of the engine;
 – ECU operates speed of idling on all operational modes through regulating valve of speed of idling;
 – The oxygen gauge is used to allow ECU to operate a fuel mix very precisely that allows to use каталитический neutralizer;
 – The gauge of a detonation established in the block of cylinders, is used for detection of the beginning of a detonation or premature ignition. It allows ECU to choose an optimum advancing of ignition for prevailing operational modes of the engine without risk of damage of the engine.

OF INJECTION BOSCH MOTRONIC ML4. L

Principle of action of system Motronlc ML4. l it is similar described for system L3. l-Jetronic (see above), but with following distinctions:

 – ECU includes function of start from a cold condition and memory of damage;
 – The screw of contour of regulation of a mix is replaced by a potentiometer of position throttle заслонки;
 – The case throttle заслонки has the double chamber;
 – Speed of idling is supported at the predetermined level (irrespective of loading) by the valve of speed of idling.

ELEMENTS OF SYSTEM OF INJECTION BOSCH MOTRONIC МР 5.1

Control system of engine Bosch Motronic MP5. l (ignition / the system of injection of fuel) includes каталитический neutralizer and a control system of allocation of steams of fuel and corresponds to the latest standards of the control of issue.

The fuel pump which is shipped in a fuel tank, provides fuel giving through the filter established behind under the bottom of the car. Pressure in fuel system copes a pressure regulator in a fuel highway.

The electric control system consists from ECU along with following gauges:

 – A potentiometer of position throttle заслонки;
 – The gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid;
 – The gauge of temperature of arriving air;
 – The ljambda-gauge – informs ECU the oxygen maintenance in exhaust gases;
 – The gauge of position of a cranked shaft;
 – The pressure gauge in an inlet collector;
 – The gauge of speed of a vehicle.

ECU operates fuel atomizers, changing width of an impulse (an interval of time when atomizers are opened). The fuel mix constantly changes ECU to provide an optimum parity for start of the hot or cold engine, warming up, an idling and acceleration mode.

ECU also defines speed of idling through the auxiliary pneumovalve which bypasses throttle заслонку.

The electric element of heating is attached to the injector case that at start of the cold engine prevents a possible icing.

If there is an error in any of the data received from the gauge, ECU enters into a way of the doubler. In this case ECU ignores a wrong signal of the gauge and accepts preliminary programmed value which will allow the engine to continue work (though and with smaller efficiency). If ECU enters into a way of the doubler, the alarm system lamp on the instrument panel will light up and damage will be written down in memory ECU. After that it is necessary to conduct full test of a control system by the engine, using the special electronic diagnostic test bed which simply joins in a diagnostic socket of system.

ELEMENTS OF SYSTEM OF INJECTION MAGNETI MAREILLI 8P

The control system of engine Magneti Marelli 8P (ignition / system of injection of fuel) is very similar in operation on system Bosch MP5. l (see above), except a control system of speed of idling.

On system Magneti Marelli speed of idling copes ECU through the additional engine attached to the case throttle заслонки.

The engine has a pusher operating opening of the additional channel which bypasses throttle заслонку. When throttle заслонка it is closed, ECU operates movement of a pusher which regulates quantity of air which passes through the channel of the case throttle заслонки, and operates speed of idling. Roundabout the channel also is used for additional delivery of air at start of the cold engine.
