THE GENERAL DATA

To guarantee optimum efficiency on high frequencies of rotation of the engine and a capacity maximum on lower frequencies of rotation of the engine, models with 16 valves have an inlet collector with variable section of a path. The system is called ACAV ("a variable acoustic characteristic induction").

The inlet collector is divided in two paths of various length and diameter: a long path (for low power) length 650 mm and diameter 36 mm and a short path (for high capacity) length 370 mm and diameter 45 mm.

On each end of a casing assemblage with a vacuum diaphragm is established. Each diaphragm is connected with an axis of the throttle valve through a pusher. Vacuum diaphragms are connected with электрически the operated electromagnetic valve which is in turn connected with the vacuum pump of brake system. The pump is established at an end face of a head of the block of cylinders.

At frequencies of rotation of the engine below 1800 turns in a minute and more than 5080 turns in a minute ECU the electromagnetic valve closes, disconnecting vacuum from diaphragms, and throttle valves закрывыются. With valves short paths of giving of air and air stream are closed arrives through a long path.

At frequencies of rotation of the engine between 1800 turns in a minute and 5080 turns in a minute ECU opens the electromagnetic valve. The vacuum influences vacuum diaphragms and opens four throttle valves. With open valves arriving air passes both through short, and through long paths for reception of the maximum capacity.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To check up system, to start the engine in an idling mode. Slowly to increase frequency of rotation of the engine and to observe of vacuum pushers of a diaphragm. At approximately 1800 turns in a minute pushers should influence diaphragms.
2. To check up action of the electromagnetic valve, to remove a vacuum tube from a diaphragm. To start the engine in an idling mode. To place a finger on the pipe end; the vacuum should be absent in a pipe. At slow increase in frequency of rotation of the engine до1800 turns in a minute the vacuum in a pipe should be felt.

THE BLOCK OF VALVES ACAV

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove an inlet collector.
2. To remove a fuel highway.
3. To remove vacuum hoses from a fuel regulator of pressure and a hose of diaphragm ACAV from a tee.
4. To unscrew three bolts, крепящие the block of valves to a head of the block of cylinders, and to remove it together with a lining.
5. To check up, that throttle valves opened freely and easily.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove a vacuum hose from the diaphragm case.
2. To unscrew two bolts, крепящие the block with a vacuum diaphragm to the block of valves, and to remove the block.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To wring out bracket and to remove an electric socket.
2. To unscrew a nut of fastening of the valve, to remove the valve and to remove from the valve vacuum hoses.
